Our Story
Cotton Planet grew from a deep love of children, good design, and all things handmade.
Our founder, Anita, comes from a long line of makers and crafters. Some of her fondest childhood memories are of waking up in her grandparents’ house to the comforting hum of a Singer sewing machine - a sound that still brings a sense of warmth and safety today. That early love of craft and creativity later led her to study Interior Design, sharpening her eye for beauty, balance, and detail.
In 2006, Anita arrived in Ireland with her baby boy, ready to build a new life for her family. A few years later, Cotton Planet was born - starting with handmade baby bedding and naturally growing into the carefully curated baby and children’s gift shop it is today.
As a mum, Anita witnessed first-hand the extraordinary imagination of children. A cotton bud could become a treasured “hamster,” and a simple toy could turn into a child’s most loyal companion. Those moments shaped Cotton Planet’s philosophy: toys aren’t just toys - they are comfort, creativity, and childhood memories in the making.
Today, we’re proud to offer dolls, teddies, plushies, and toys that are beautifully made, thoughtfully chosen, and truly special.
